Over the past few months, the general opinion on Matt Reeves' Let Me In, the remake of the instant-classic Let the Right One In, has gone from toxic anti-remake rage to cautious optimism. Although Reeves' directorial abilities are untested outside of the "Giant Monster Eats City" genre, the man seems to really understand what he's dealing with here. Add talented child actors Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee to the mix (not to mention the always brilliant character actor Richard Jenkins) and you have a movie that will, at the very least, have its heart in the right place.
Anyway, Coming Soon has the latest poster for Let Me In. It's a riff on the snow angel motif established in the previous teaser poster, cranking up the brightness, removing some gore and adding Ms. Moretz's face to the mix. It's a fine poster, if a little uninspired.
Check out the full poster after the jump.
Eh, it's got nothing on this one:
Much creepier, far more atmospheric and a better tease in every possible respect. Although both snow angel posters are significantly better than the very first poster:
Eh, in the end, a poster is a poster is a poster. Great movies have bad posters and bad movies have great posters. Let's see what happens.
Let Me In will open this year's Fantastic Fest and will hit theaters on October 10th.
