In 'The Wire,' the excellent HBO series widely lauded for its brutal honesty and unflinching accuracy about the War on Drugs, Baltimore, Maryland functioned as the backdrop for vicious gang wars, retaliatory attacks, and merciless, constant fighting over turf.
