Jennifer GreyTwenty-three years ago, nobody put Baby in the corner... and now she's set to take centre stage again as Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey has signed up for Dancing With The Stars, the hit US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

The 50-year-old actress made her name as Frances 'Baby' Houseman in the 1987 classic, opposite Patrick Swayze, and has already been tipped as a favourite to win the show among fellow competitors David Hasselhoff, Michael Bolton, R&B singer Brandy and veteran actress Florence Henderson.

Speaking to Us Weekly about her reasons for joining the cast, she said: "[I thought it would be] really fun. And I thought it would be a really great way to challenge myself and show by example to my 8-year old what it's like to watch mummy walk through her fears... I'm scared silly!"

Other stars preparing to hit the dancefloor for the 10th season of the show include US comedienne Margaret Cho, politician Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol and retired US football star, Kurt Warner.

Dancing with the Stars begins in America on 20 September.
