The first trailer is now online and honestly, Dead of Night looks a lot like a low-budget version of Constantine. The good news is that it looks like it's more fun and less serious than Keanu Reeve's movie (which was also based on a comic -- Hellblazer). Keeping with the comic theme, Brandon Routh (who donned Superman's tights in the last film in that franchise) plays lead character Dylan Dog -- a private investigator trying to keep peace between the vampires, werewolves, and zombies wandering the world.
The new clip gives you a feel for the movie (which is still in post-production) and should appeal to fans of supernatural comedy fare like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Routh's career has never really recovered from the Superman debacle -- and while I doubt this film will put him back on the mainstream A-list, it does seem like a part he's well suited for.
I have no idea how faithful Dylan Dog will be compared to the source material, but I think the movie looks fun. Have a gander at the clip after the jump and see what you think.
