There's lots of action on the casting front today:

Joey Lawrence, Wesley Snipes and Michael Dudikoff will see some action in 'Havana Heat,' an independent thriller that revolves around a Homeland Security agent based in Gitmo who's murdered while undercover in Havana -- "where crumbling Colonial architecture, vintage American cars and pulsating salsa provide the backdrop for betrayal and intrigue," according to Variety. Dean Hamilton ('Blonde and Blonder') is directing. The actioner will begin shooting in November for a planned release next summer. There's lots of action on the casting front today:

Karl Urban will star in a remake of the science fiction thriller 'Judge Dredd,' which will be directed by Pete Travis and which will begin shooting this October. The 1995 film starred Sylvester Stallone, Armand Assante, Diane Lane and Rob Schneider and grossed $113 million worldwide. [Variety]

Director Shawn Levy's science fiction actioner 'Real Steel' has added Karl Yune to the cast. The DreamWorks' film, which is currently shooting, is set in the near future and revolves around the sport of robot boxing. Hugh Jackman stars as a washed-up boxer who tries to turn a robot into a champion. Yune will play a robot boxer designer. Yune's credits include 'Speed Racer' and 'Memoirs of a Geisha.' The film is scheduled for a Nov. 18, 2011 release. [Variety]

of HBO's 'True Blood' is joining the ensemble drama 'Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You,' the story of an isolated young adult who must contend with his dysfunctional family the summer before he heads to college, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ellen Burstyn, Marcia Gay Harden, Lucy Liu and Stephen Lang have already been cast in the film, which is based on the novel by Peter Cameron, and which will begin shooting next month in New York.
