Fact: I will never, ever tire of "premake" trailers. YouTube user whoiseyevan has been making them for quite some time now (I think my favorite is Ghostbusters) and today he's back at it with a trailer for a 1950s version of Marvel's The Avengers. And as expected it is another amazing trailer for a movie that never was.
What are premakes, you ask? It's simple, really: They're trailers cut together from vintage film and television footage to look like one cohesive vision for a film. And it really is ridiculous how many different sources whoiseyevan pulls from when putting each of these videos together. Just check out the recipe for The Avengers, which is, and I do not use this word lightly considering how overused it has become, epic.
Don't worry if you can't catch all the references to Marvel characters, either, as he/she has created a handy frame-by-frame breakdown for us mere mortals, which is also embedded below.
