Location as Character: Diners at the Proud Bird can view all the action that goes down at LAX, where Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) works as a flight attendant -- and as money launderer for Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). One day, while making another run for Ordell, Jackie is busted by the ATF. Unbeknownst to Jackie, her money was stashed with cocaine -- and in order to avoid jail time, she needs to secretly work with the feds and set-up Ordell. Jackie, however, plans to double-cross the cops and get away scot free, setting off Tarantino's crime caper filled intrigue and suspense.

Historical Significance
: The restaurant was opened in 1963 to serve as a display of post-WWII Americana. The Proud Bird is located right next to an approach runway at Los Angeles International Airport providing diners with a "one-of-a-kind" view of aviation in action. It's also outfitted with several banquet rooms and an outdoor ceremony location, and is a popular attraction for weddings and other special events.

Vintage warbirds decorate the area surrounding the restaurant, while antique memorabilia hangs inside. The restaurant was founded by airplane collector -- and former B-17 pilot -- David Tallichet, and stands as the 8th largest private aviation museum in the world. The Proud Bird is also fitted with headphones, so customer can listen into the LAX Control Tower.

Directions: The restaurant is located at 11022 Aviation Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA. To get there from Interstate 110-South, get off at exit 14A and merge onto I-105 West. Then take exit 2A, heading towards La Cienega Bl./Aviation Blvd. Make a left at West Imperial Highway. Then take the first right onto Aviation Blvd. The restaurant will there on your right.

Visitor's Info: The restaurant is open for lunch 11AM to 3PM from Monday to Saturday. Dinner runs from 4PM to 10PM. Sunday brunch runs from 9AM to 3PM, followed by dinner from 4:30PM to 10PM.
