If fanboys weren't already excited enough about Jon Favreau's Cowboys and Aliens after the footage shown at last week's Comic-Con, then news that co-star Olivia Wilde has a nude scene could very well make the entire Internet explode.

Actor Adam Beach, who's playing Harrison Ford's henchman Nat Colorado in the film, shared the details with website Jam. "We just finished shooting Olivia Wilde naked in front of a bonfire in front of 500 Apache warriors," Beach says. "That was beautiful. You won't get to see what I saw, but you'll get a glimpse." Start concocting your elaborate nerd fantasies now. Wilde landed the #1 slot on the 2009 Maxim Magazine Hot 100 list, so this seems like a pretty big deal.

The film, which is based on a graphic novel about an alien invasion in the 1800's that forces cowboys and Apache Indians to join forces to fight extra-terrestrials, stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Wilde, and Sam Rockwell. It's expected in theaters in July of 2011.

For her part, Wilde seems pretty comfortable with showing some skin on the big screen (she also appeared nude in the film Alpha Dog): "Last night, we did a scene where I'm naked in front of a group of couple hundred Apache. Pretty amazing, pretty interesting." I'm guessing "amazing" is a word that a lot of viewers will be using after seeing Ms. Wilde's scene. I'm personally holding out to catch a glimpse of my boyfriend Clancy Brown, who also stars in the film.

This does beg the question, what's the bigger deal for onscreen female nudity in the upcoming year: Olivia Wilde doing a nude scene in this film or Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis' lesbian love scene in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan? All I know is that if we could somehow harness all this geek lust we could solve most of America's energy concerns for the generations ahead.
