Sweet baby Jesus, I could watch this over and over. Bioware, developers of all sorts of delicious games, released a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Yes, it was released back in June during E3 2010, but when I realized it hadn't been written up here, I had to rectify that. If you're one of the poor souls who haven't yet had a chance to see this, then brace yourself. It will melt your face off and rekindle your faith in the force. I'm getting totally fanboy about it, yes, but I don't care. The clip is a lengthy, tooth-and-nail battle, the kind of scene that geeks like me have been wanting to see for thirty years. If the game is half as fun as the clip, then I'm sold.

Play Star Wars: The Old Republic and forge your own Star Wars saga in a story-driven massively-multiplayer online game from BioWare and LucasArts. Explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy.

I promised myself I wouldn't get snared by an MMO again. After a few grueling months of being a slave to World of WarCraft, I kicked it. I've seen them destroy lives and ruin relationships. I've seen friends become drones who could only talk about DPS or area effects. I vowed it would never happen to me. But this? This is a siren call and by God, I'm going to answer.
