As July comes to a close and summer hits its third act before school starts again, it's a good weekend to huddle together for a good ol' family movie night. Here are 10 recommendations for prime family viewing this weekend.

Toy Story 31. For Families Who've Yet to Go to the Movies Together: 'Toy Story 3' (G) - in theaters
Who's In It: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack
What It's About: 'Inception' may be the grown-up movie of the summer, but Pixar's "threequel" is the overall movie of the summer. Andy's favorite toys Woody (Hanks), Buzz (Allen), Jessie (Cusack) and co. seem doomed to a life in attic storage until a mix-up takes them to a day care center instead. At first the toys, misled by big-shot purple-bear Lotso (Ned Beatty), think they will be cared for by sweet four-year-olds, but they end up in the toddler class, where the little ones slobber and clobber them every day. Can Woody, Buzz and the gang escape in time to bid Andy farewell to college? Of course! Will you still cry when they do? Of course!

Back to the Future2. For Gen X Parents Who Want to Relive Their Childhoods: 'Back to the Future' (PG) - on DVD
Who's In It: Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson
What It's About: Before the 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray Trilogy comes out Oct. 26, why not introduce the kids to one of the milestone movies of your youth? Marty McFly (Fox) is an '80s high-schooler who winds up on the wrong end of a wacky professor's (Lloyd) time-machine experiment and lands in 1955, the very year his parents (Thompson and Crispin Glover) got together. If Marty can't ensure his parents still kiss on a particular night, his future self (along with his siblings) will disappear. Your 21st-century offspring will marvel at the DeLorean, Chuck Berry tunes and the fictional flux capacitor.

Coraline3. For Families With Budding Animators: 'Coraline' (PG) - on DVD
Who's In It: Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, Keith David
What It's About: Stop-action master Henry Selick ('The Nightmare Before Christmas,' 'James and the Giant Peach') creates a vivid, if a tad creeptastic, world in this adaptation of Neil Gaiman's children's book about Coraline (Fanning) -- NOT Caroline -- whose family moves to a large Victorian apartment house where all is not what it seems. Behind the walls of the house lies a fantastic but slightly foreboding "Other" universe where Coraline's parents are completely devoted to her every need. But as her "Other" mother (Hatcher) makes plain, she'll have to stitch up her eyes if she wants to stay.

Ramona and Beezus4. For Beverly Cleary or Selena Gomez Fans: 'Ramona and Beezus' (G) - in theaters
Who's In It: Joey King, Selena Gomez, John Corbett
What It's About: In my opinion, Beverly Cleary's fiercely imaginative and independent Ramona Quimby (King) is one of the greatest characters in all children's literature. Got a kid who's a fellow fan? No? Well, what about tween-favorite Disney star Selena Gomez? Either way, this sweet little adaptation of Ramona and big-sister Beezus' (Gomez) antics is sure to leave you and the kidlets smiling.

To Kill a Mockingbird5. For Families With Literary Tweens & Teens: 'To Kill a Mockingbird' (NR) - on DVD
Who's In It: Gregory Peck, Mary Badham, Robert Duvall
What It's About:
What better way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Harper Lee's American coming-of-age classic than to introduce your kids to one of the very best page-to-screen adaptations in film history? Peck brilliantly brings righteous attorney Atticus Finch to life in the performance of his career, Badham was Oscar-nominated for playing protagonist Scout, and a young Duvall is riveting as misfit recluse Boo Radley. Afterward, read (or re-read) the book as a family and discuss its impact.

Enchanted6. For Families With All Girls*: 'Enchanted' (PG) - on DVD
Who's In It: Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden
What It's About: On the day of animated princess-to-be Giselle's (Adams) wedding to her dashing Prince Edward (Marsden), the prince's evil stepmother, Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) tricks her, and she ends up banished to the live-action world of New York City. There, she wreaks enchanting havoc on the life of widower Robert (Dempsey) and his loving daughter. Adams' charm is irresistible, especially when she sings hilarious Disney Princess-esque songs about cleaning up (with rats & pigeons!) and falling in love. Swoon!

The Clone Wars7. For Families With All Boys**: 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' (PG) - on DVD
Who's in it: Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor
What it's about: George Lucas' animated 'Star Wars'-universe adventure chronicles the time when the Jedi fight to keep the Dark Forces from spreading to the far-reaches of the Galactic Republic. In this series, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (Lanter) and his Padawan Ahsoka (Eckstein) end up face-to-face with the slimy mob boss Jabba the Hut, while the evil Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) sends his protege Ventress (Nika Futterman) on a mission to thwart (and kill) any Jedi that stand in his way. My 8 1/2-year-old son would watch it every day if I let him.
What it's about: Director Peter Jackson kicked off his definitive three-part adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece with this indisputable epic following young Hobbit Frodo (Wood) on his destined journey to save Middle-earth from total destruction. Guided by the brave wizard Gandalf (McKellen) and a motley fellowship of men, hobbits, dwarves and elves, Frodo is the kind of underdog hero kids will root for easily.

The Princess Bride9. For Both Adventure and Romance: 'The Princess Bride' (PG) - on DVD
Who's in it: Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin
What it's about: A grandfather (Peter Falk) tells his ill young grandson (Fred Savage) an amazing bedtime tale, equal parts romance -- between heroine Buttercup (a radiant Wright) and her one-and-only Wesley (a dashing Elwes) -- and swashbuckling adventure -- featuring Andre the Giant, no less. Plus, there's so many ridiculously quotable lines, from "As you wish" to "Mawwage" to "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya ..."

* and ** The Moviefone Mama is not trying to be sexist and realizes that there are boys who love 'Enchanted,' and girls who love 'The Clone Wars,' but in her family that's just not the case.
