Unlike Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg doesn't seem to be in any danger of being replaced.

The Hollywood Reporter brings news that Pegg is in talks to reprise his role as tech geek Benji Dunn in 'Mission: Impossible IV.' Pegg first played the role in the third installment of the franchise, directed by J.J. Abrams.

Pegg went on to work with Abrams and Paramount again in 'Star Trek,' in which Pegg played excitable ship engineer Scotty. Unlike Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg doesn't seem to be in any danger of being replaced.

Pegg went on to work with Abrams and Paramount again in 'Star Trek,' in which Pegg played excitable ship engineer Scotty.

'Mission: Impossible IV' hasn't been officially greenlit by Paramount, but director Brad Bird and his crew are sullying forth for an early September start. The film is produced by Abrams along with Cruise and Paula Wagner.

As was reported last week, the fate of 'Mission: Impossible IV' lies heavily on the overseas box office performance of the Cruise action film, 'Knight and Day.' Paramount may even consider a complete reboot of the franchise with a new star.
