It appears the Mexican-made 'This Is Not A Movie,' starring Edward Furlong, Peter Coyote and Edi Gathegi, for which former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash did the original music score, has been completed and is "coming soon," as it states on its dedicated Facebook page.

A two-minute trailer can also be downloaded in HD (Warning: Trailer includes some foul language) and includes snippets of the score. It definitely rocks in spots, especially the final clip.

"It sounds great," Slash tells Moviefone. "You know what? I did stuff for that movie I did not know I had in me. It sort of put me in a whole different place. It's really all different kinds of stuff. There's some rock and, actually, some of the songs on [my solo album], parts of them are in that movie because that's when I originally had the idea."

"The Fergie song ['Beautiful Dangerous'] I originally wrote for a stripbar scene. Another [song] called 'Saint Is A Sinner', with Rocco Deluca, I first wrote for this desolate scene in the movie. And I own the music rights so I can take it and go, 'Oh, this would make a great song.'"

After laying down guitar for Clint Mansell's 2008 Oscar-winning drama, 'The Wrestler,' Slash was hired by Mexican director Olallo Rubio to score the English-language drama/comedy, 'This Is Not A Movie.'

"Yeah, it's my first full film score," Slash says. "I did 'The Wrestler' too, but 'The Wrestler' I didn't write; I just performed it, but this one I wrote from one end to the other."

Rubio made a 2007 documentary, called 'So, What's Your Price,' about the differences between media, power and consumerism in Mexico and the U.S. It seems he continues to explore the theme in the fictional 'This Is Not A Movie.'

The synopsis on the film's official website states: "With the end of the world imminent, Pete Nelson (Edward Furlong) locks himself inside a Las Vegas hotel. There, he tries to understand his confused reality influenced by film, TV, pop culture, disinformation, drugs and propaganda. The journey that follows is a surreal, psychedelic, apocalyptic quest where nothing is what it seems..."

A burning question on everybody's mind is if there will be a soundtrack release. "First the movie has to come out," says Slash.
