Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta JonesLet the catfight commence. Hollywood sources have revealed to the US's Entertainment Tonight TV show that a movie is planning to be made based on the life of Hollywood grande dame Elizabeth Taylor - with Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta-Jones both vying for the lead role.

Director Mike Nichols (The Graduate) has declared an interest in adapting the book 'Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century' for the big screen. The book is based on love letters that the two Hollywood stars sent to each other throughout their two turbulent marriages, and also an unpublished 1965 Taylor autobiography.

Both Jolie and Zeta-Jones stand a good chance of bagging the role: Zeta-Jones shares more than a passing resemblance to Taylor and, coincidentally, Jolie has recently signed up to star in Cleopatra, the original version of which starred both Taylor and Burton and nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox.
