Once word got out yesterday that Ryan Reynolds would appear on the cover of next week's Entertainment Weekly as the Green Lantern, you knew it was only a matter of time before EW released the cover before anyone could throw up clumsy scans of it online. And, well, behold -- there's Ryan Reynolds in all his Green Lantern glory! He even looks as if he wants to give us all a Green Lantern fist pump, and, hey, I'm down.

The geeks of the nation will get a closer look at Reynolds and The Green Lantern when Warner Bros. unveils a sneak peek of the film during San Diego Comic Con next week. For everyone else, though, this is all you're gonna get for now, and while I'm no Green Lantern expert, it seems like all the right parts are there. Lots of green? Check. Cool green mask? Check. A ring with the classic Green Lantern symbol? Check. Nice hair? Double check! EW describes Reynolds' character as a "cocky test pilot who becomes a ring-wearing intergalactic superhero ..." Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) directs, and the film co-stars Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett.

One of the more interesting things about Reynolds and this Green Lantern costume is that the entire get-up is being created with computers and placed on Reynolds after the fact. If you've seen images of Reynolds on set, the guy is covered in all sorts of dots and whatnot (see an image after the jump) so that they can work their movie magic in post-production and provide the guy with his magic superhero suit. Will this help or hurt the production in the end? That we don't know ... yet.

The Green Lantern hits theaters on June 17th, 2011. What do you Lantern nuts think of the suit, the look, and The Reynolds?

Here's Ryan Reynolds minus his computer-generated Green Lantern suit.
