New York Times correspondent Amy Harmon recently interviewed a robot. Yes, interviewed a robot. The resulting video is not in any way, shape, or form creepy. And by that I of course mean that it's nothing but creepy.
Obviously there isn't much to the interview itself. Robot Bina48, which a self-made millionaire commissioned to be built in the image of his wife Bina, is not sentient. She's not a revolutionary break through in artificial intelligence capable of independent thought and personality. Her programming allows her to access the Internet to look up answers to specific questions, but as far as personality goes, she's only as robust as the human(s) that made her.
So why is it such a creepy video, then? Well, you'll just have to watch to find out.
