Jackson's WETA ('The Lord of the Rings') is designing the apes.

Freida Pinto previously joined the cast as a primatologist who helps Franco after man's obsession with genetic experimentation goes kablooey and leads to the development of super intelligent apes.

Serkis' Caesar leads the ape uprising against the humans at the onset of a war for control of the planet.

The 'Apes' role will mark the latest big screen baddie played by Cox, who famously antagonized Wolverine in 'X2' and hunted Matt Damon in the 'Bourne' movies.

'Rise of the Apes' heads to theaters next summer, June 24.
