Beauty lasts forever. That's what Amanda Seyfried is hoping for by joining New Regency and Fox's sci-fi action thriller 'I'm.mortal,' from writer-director Andrew Niccol, according to a report in Variety. The movie centers on a society in which aging stops at 25 and where citizens can buy and bank time before their aging gene turns off. The rich can thus live forever, but those who run out of time die automatically. When a rebel is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful, rich hostage (Seyfried). Niccol, who directed 'Gattaca' and 'The Terminal,' will begin shooting the film later this year for a 2011 release.
Haley Joel Osment has signed on to star in 'Sex Ed,' a comedy about "a college graduate who dreams of teaching high school Algebra but due to budget restraints, ends up teaching sexual education, despite being a virgin," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Osment made a giant splash playing the psychic kid in 'The Sixth Sense' and the android kid in 'Artificial Intelligence: AI,' but has done mostly voice-over work since. This will be the first starring role for the 22-year-old since 2007's 'Home of the Giants.' Commercials and shorts director Isaac Feder will helm the film.
