The 'Salt' web game 'Day X Exists' unveiled its eighth mission yesterday.

'Salt' opens July 23, and stars Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who's been accused of being involved in a plot to assassinate the president. She's on the run from the CIA while also trying to clear her name and stop the plot.

Alex Moaba -- Moviefone's Senior Online Summer Movie Viral Video Game Expert -- is currently deep undercover on a secret mission, leaving me in charge of navigating the dangerous world of 'Day X Exists.' My gaming experience is limited to Super Nintendo and computer solitaire, and my experience in espionage and assassinations is even more pathetic. But I'm going to give it a try because I can't let Alex, Evelyn Salt, or my country down. The 'Salt' web game 'Day X Exists' unveiled its eighth mission yesterday.

Mission 8: Sniper

You get a call from Salt. She tells you that a meeting is going down between Simms, Hicks, Johnson, and "someone called Chenkov" in the Bramley Containment Yard in Baltimore. Even though this is not a sanctioned op, they must be taken down. Fortunately, Salt has your supplies waiting for you when you break into the yard. It's a chance to clear Salt's name, and become a hero in the process. This could be the moment that Day X is stopped -- and it can be done with four bullets. Most importantly, no one can get out alive.

There are three shadowy figures already talking in an office building when you scope out the situation. A guard dog is on patrol outside, and it loves to bark at the slightest noise. The Yard is dimly lit, but you can see a large container precariously hanging over the entrance. If you needed to trap the targets inside the Yard, you could probably shoot the container down and block their escape, but you have to make the shot count.

You have to use your space bar to zoom in your scope, move the mouse to the exact point you want to aim at, and click to shoot. It sounds easy enough, but you have to do it as silently as possible. Make any extra noise and the survivors panic and run off. And if they blow out the lights and try to leave under the cover of darkness, you have to shoot down that hanging container in time.

It took me a couple of tries -- mainly because I have terrible hand-eye coordination. Luckily for me, this is just a game and not a life-or-death situation, so I can take a couple of tries at it; Agent Salt will be none the wiser, and I still have a chance to earn "hero" cred. As expected, with one target left to go, my targets blow out the lights, and in a display of tactical brilliance I didn't know I possessed, relied on my keen senses to take them down. You could also call it blind luck.

After checking the info on one of the targets, you discover he's a special agent for a Day X Task Force. All four individuals were operating "off the radar," gathering intel on Day X and hoping to stop it. Government agents get a report of a commotion in the Yard and move in on you. It appears that you have now also been wrongly accused as a traitor, in secret cahoots with Day X. Which is the exact opposite of "hero." You successfully get away under a hail of gunfire, but it's imperative that you get back in contact with Salt, as soon as possible.

See you next week for Mission 9.
