The Hangover director Todd Philips wasn't lying when he said he wanted to cast a whole bunch of unknowns for his last project, temporarily titled Project X. And we're not talking "unknown" like Robert Pattinson was pre-Twilight, when he still had a heart-throbby Harry Potter stint under his belt. We're talking never-seen-on-the-big-screen actors, ones who just might make a splash like the Hangover dudes and start giving the early twenty-something celebs a run for their money.

Get ready to hear more about: Miles Teller, Oliver Cooper, Jonathan Daniel Brown, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Dax Flame, Nichole O'Connor, Thomas Mann, and Alexis Knapp. (See images of the cast after the jump.) These lucky folks have been tapped to star in the project that is still shrouded in secrecy, but luckily with the casting, some nuggets of information have slipped out. Namely, what on earth this potential laugh fest will be about.

Variety reports that this "outrageous high-concept" story is taking a cue from Cloverfield: "Insiders now say the story revolves around a group of kids documenting a house party that suddenly goes awry," and the film will be told from the point of view of the partier with the camera. Between the Cloverfield inspiration and the secrecy, it's easy to wonder if there are any supernatural elements to this puppy. Potential actors were tested with small segments of the script, and even now, there's a lockdown similar to the chains attached to the Scream 4 script. There's something big lurking in there.

I'll just be glad when Phillips releases the name of this thing. Every time I see "Project X," I recoil thinking about horrific '80s tearjerkers.
