As the song goes, you don't tug on Superman's cape, but I guess any part of Wonder Woman's costume is fair game. She's been given a complete overhaul by superstar artist Jim Lee, just in time for her landmark 600th issue, written by J. Michael Straczynski.

She's showing considerably less skin than she did before, sporting a leather jacket (the dated fashion accessory of choice for superheroes in the early 90's -- again, thanks to Jim Lee) and, gasp, actual pants. It's not a totally radical re-design, and some of the elements (namely the jacket and choker) should just go away forever, but it's not bad either. Like most costume re-designs for classic characters, I'd look for her to return to her old outfit once the monthly book changes creative teams again. Anybody miss Electric Superman or Knightfall Batman? I didn't think so.
