E3 was slightly anticlimactic this year -- filled with a lot of sequels and "me too" titles looking to cash in on the success of other games (hope you love shooters, because there's a whole lot of them coming down the pipeline...), but just because something is a sequel doesn't mean we don't still get excited for it. Take Dead Rising 2, Capcom's follow up to their "man trapped in a mall slaughtering hordes of zombies" title from a few years back. The sequel looks great -- and hopefully it will fix some of the original game's issues (smarter NPCs and a better save system would make me happy).

Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait a month longer than anticipated to find out just how successful DR2 will be at fixing the problems of the original. Capcom sent us a press release this morning explaining that they're delaying the title until September 28th. Bummer.

The company didn't give a reason for the date change, but gamers dying to take new hero Chuck Greene out to slaughter thousands of zombies in Las Vegas will have to find something else to occupy their time. The game was originally slated for a late August release, so the shift is only a month, but summer is usually light on quality games to play. DR2 was going to be our oasis in the desert...

I guess that just means more Left 4 Dead 2 in the meantime...
