Should Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges just start preparing their Oscar speeches now?

ComingSoon.net reports that the two previous Oscar winners are in talks to star together in a project that is just the kind of juicy character drama that the Academy loves.

'Great Hope Springs' is about a couple who have been married for 30 years and attend an intense counseling weekend to decide the fate of their marriage. The film is written by Vanessa Taylor.

Philip Seymour Hoffman (another Oscar winner), who co-starred opposite Streep in the 2008 drama 'Doubt,' is also circling the project, but may be unable to join due to scheduling conflicts. Should Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges just start preparing their Oscar speeches now?

Jeff Bridges won the Oscar for Best Actor just this past year for his performance in 'Crazy Heart' (pictured). He'll be seen in two high-profile films this December: Disney's 'TRON: Legacy' (opening Dec. 17) and the Coen Brothers' 'True Grit' (opening Dec. 25).

Meryl Streep previously won an Oscar for her supporting role in 'Kramer vs. Kramer' and for her leading role in 'Sophie's Choice.' She's also been nominated a record 16 times, including just this past year for her performance in 'Julie & Julia.'
