The 'Salt' web game 'Day X Exists' unveiled its sixth mission yesterday, and because I fancy myself a viral marketing junkie and also enjoy playing video games in my office cubicle, I shall be playing it.

'Salt' opens July 23, and stars Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who's been accused of being involved in a plot to assassinate the president. She's on the run from the CIA while also trying to clear her name and stop the plot. So let's play the sixth mission. 'Salt' opens July 23, and stars Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who's been accused of being involved in a plot to assassinate the president. She's on the run from the CIA while also trying to clear her name and stop the plot. So let's play the sixth mission.

Mission 6: Tracer

You get a call from Agent Salt. Archie Johnson has landed with the package and is staying at a hotel between 12th and Bank. Salt has put a tracer on the package Johnson is delivering to Hicks. As soon as he moves, you have to locate the signal and trace it to the exchange. You can't lose him.

You have to trace Johnson's location using five connected signal towers. Green = in range, orange = close range, red = out of range. You can use up to five signals at a time. It's a clicking good time that reminded me of the old school computer game Minesweeper. Basically, when you see a green circle, surround it by clicking on the others. I failed the first time but it's easy to get a hang of it.

After we got Johnson's position, the CIA was able to plug his identity into its database and learn more about him. Johnson's name is actually Vladimir Motova, a Russian with a mysterious tattoo on his neck. He was born in Vladivostok, Russia, but was found as a stowaway on a container ship docked in New York as a child.

We also learn more about the Illenium Program, which the KGB has apparently used to create a very powerful chemical weapon that is now called Illlenium 5. This, combined with the recent theft of a large amount of plastic explosives from a military base in Colombia by suspected Day X operatives, is highly troubling.

In other news, the agents who were tracking Hicks have somehow lost her. Curses. How can we get out of this jam? I'm sure Salt will help us out next week.
