If you've been wondering what kind of trouble Captain Jack Sparrow will find himself in during the course of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, you can satisfy your curiosity by reading onward.

Filming on the fourth installment in the popular franchise started last week and Disney wanted everyone to know, so they sent out a press release/novel crowing about it. According to the release, Sparrow (Johnny Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), but he's not sure if it's love or if she wants to follow him so she can find the lost Fountain of Youth. Things seem clearer when she forces him aboard The Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the infamous Blackbeard (my boyfriend Ian McShane). Here, Jack finds himself on a brand new journey -- and unsure as to who he should fear more, the woman from his past of the cutthroat pirate.

Depp and company will also be joined by Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Sam Claflin. The title is the first to be shot in and presented in Disney Digital 3D and is slated to open on May 20th of next year.

Honestly, I'm a little tired of the Pirates films at this point. The departure of Gore Verbinski has certainly inspired some concern about the direction of the franchise, but I'm willing to give this one a shot if for no other reason than to see Ian McShane as Blackbeard. Are you up for another voyage on the seven seas or will you be sitting this one out on dry land?
