Get ready to buy a dress or tux, find a date, and sway awkwardly to the music because Disney's ready to take you to the Prom.

Ten actors have been cast in the new project, which chronicles the trials and tribulations of a group of high schoolers getting ready for the big dance. Deadline has the full list of actors and it's comprised of mostly unknown performers. The House that Mickey Built sees franchise potential in the film, hoping to replicate the success of High School Musical.

So far, we know these kids are going to the Prom: Thomas McDonell, Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights), Danielle Campbell, Nolan Sotillo, Yin Chang (Gossip Girl), Jared Kusnitz (Surviving Suburbia), Nicholas Braun (10 Things I Hate About You), Ben Esler (The Pacific), Kylie Bunbury and DeVaughn Nixon. The film is set to be directed by Joe Nussbaum -- best known for gifting us all with American Pie: The Naked Mile. Clearly Nussbaum has experience with making films about young adult characters, but I somehow doubt Disney's going to allow any nudity ...

Early buzz says Prom's tone will be similar to John Hughes' Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles. I'm not sure I believe that, but I guess we'll all just have to wait and see. I can already guess how this is gonna end -- with each girl as a princess who finds true love with her very own Prince Charming -- minus the booze and sex.
