Courtney Cox and Jennifer AnistonThe latest news from Scream 4 is that two much-loved comedy actresses will be reunited on screen for the first time since, er, the last time they were reunited on screen. Rumour has it that Jennifer Aniston will join Courtney Cox in the 'franchise restart', although it's doubtful they'll actually share any screen time as Aniston could be in line to be the film's first victim at the hands of Ghostface.

Although this is probably of awesome significance to Friends fans (if you just moved to Earth from Mars you may be unaware of the sitcom that made the actresses famous), kindly bear in mind that the unsubstantiated rumour comes from Star Magazine, which hardly has a clean record when dealing with the truth...

Rumour has it that Jennifer Aniston will join Courtney Cox in the 'franchise restart', although it's doubtful they'll actually share any screen time as Aniston could be in line to be the film's first victim at the hands of Ghostface.

Although this is probably of awesome significance to Friends fans (if you just moved to Earth from Mars you may be unaware of the sitcom that made the actresses famous), kindly bear in mind that the unsubstantiated rumour comes from Star Magazine, which hardly has a clean record when dealing with the truth (although it does have a rather fantastic plastic surgery section called 'Knifestyles of the Rich and Famous' - surely the greatest title for a B-movie slasher ever?).

Anyway, if it is true then Aniston already has some substantial horror chops, having made her film debut in the shlocky Leprechaun and starring in a string of drippy 'romantic' 'comedies'. The last time her and Cox were on screen together was in the season finale of Cox's TV drama Dirt, which saw the two actresses share a quick snog in a desperate attempt to claw back some ratings for the flagging show.

Cox, who has featured in every Scream movie, will also be joined by Scream alumni David Arquette (her real-life husband) and Neve Campbell, with original director Wes Craven and original writer Kevin Williamson also on board.

While we await news on the potential Friends/Scream mash-up, why not knock yourself out with 'the kiss the whole world is talking about' (apparently) from Dirt...
