When 'Transformers' landed in theaters three years ago, fans were instantly smitten with the sexy, unknown female lead, Megan Fox, and her return as Mikaela Banes last summer helped turn 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' into one of the biggest box office hits in Hollywood history. So when it was announced that Fox would not be returning for the third film, fans were understandably concerned. Who, after all, could hope to fill Fox's shoes -- and tight jeans?

Well, now it appears we know the answer. As Comingsoon.net is reporting, Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has apparently landed the gig. Though the rumors have yet to be confirmed by the studios working on 'Transformers 3,' Paramount and DreamWorks, Victoria's Secret itself seems to have spilled the beans with a new video congratulating the underwear model on her new gig. Fox, of course, either was let go by the studio or chose not to return for 'Transformers 3,' depending on whose version of the story you choose to believe. In a classic case of biting the hand that feeds you, Fox, whose only previous film appearance prior to 'Transformers' had been an uncredited cameo in 'Bad Boys II,' has frequently lambasted 'Transformers' director Michael Bay over the last three years, comparing him to Napoleon and Hitler, among others. Bay, who previously expressed his irritation to the Wall Street Journal when he pointed out that "nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in 'Transformers,'" apparently finally had enough and decided to go another direction.

So can he do the same thing for Huntington-Whiteley? If so, it may be his greatest special effect yet: This would be the model's first acting role ever.
