As Peter Hall reported last night in Cinematical Late Night, holy roller Jesse Eisenberg will be hooking up again with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer for 30 Minutes or Less, a bizarro comedy about a pizza delivery dude (Eisenberg), a junior high school teacher (Aziz Ansari), and a bank robbery. Oh, and one of them has a bomb strapped to his chest. Eisenberg has two dramadies in theaters now, the Hasidic drug-dealing flick Holy Rollers and Solitary Man, starring Michael Douglas.

The screenwriters are two fresh faces in the movie world, Matthew Sullivan and Michael Diliberti, but with Fleischer behind the wheel and hot properties Eisenberg and Ansari toplining, things are sounding good. Plus, Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfield, and Jeremy Kramer's Red Hour Productions have also signed on to produce.

Righteous blog The Playlist has more deets on the project, adding that Eisenberg's hapless pizza delivery dude Will is forced to wear the bomb and rob a bank by baddies played by Danny McBride and comedian Nick Swardson (Reno 911! and stand-up).

The Playlist
originally reported that McBride was in talks to play Will, their read of the script was quite positive, noting, "If the film has a familiar feel, it's that of David Gordon Green's stoner action comedy Pineapple Express and could be a big summer comedy hit in that vein, but the friendship theme notes, plus the small romantic angle... gives it a bit more heart than you'd imagine, yet never at the expense of the comedy."

Action, laughing, neurotic bumbling, and a junior high school teach named Chet? Count me in.
