The ensemble comedy, which was just picked up by Summit, follows three teens who put the blame on a fake identity -- Ricky Stanicky -- after they accidentally burn down a house in their neighborhood. The trio wind up using the alibi through their adulthood, and when their wives finally demand to meet Ricky, they're forced to hire an actor (Franco) to play him.

Franco, who recently appeared in the spring release 'Date Night,' can next be seen in the romantic saga 'Eat, Pray, Love,' starring Oscar winner Julia Roberts. 'Love' is just one of many projects lined up for the 32-year-old hottie. Upcoming roles include 'Howl,' in which he plays famed poet Allen Ginsberg (Sept. 24), 'Your Highness' (Apr. 8, 2011) and '127 Hours,' from Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle ('Slumdog Millionaire'), about real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston.

This week, it was also announced that Franco will reprise his role on the daytime soap 'General Hospital.'
