Who else thought Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine in Iron Man 2 was a little too Paul Rusesabagina? Did he have any fun in the role? Or, was his conscience bothering him too much for having replaced Terrence Howard? I've seen comments out there from people who want Howard to return for Iron Man 3 and The Avengers, but unfortunately that won't be happening. Apparently Howard has no more hard feelings about being swapped out, especially now that he may have another superhero movie on the horizon. While at Cannes to promote Winnie, in which he'll portray Nelson Mandela, he told E! the following: "Marvel and I are now talking about doing some other things. And Don Cheadle wanted to play that part before I wanted to play it, so everything is very well."

He could have just been bragging out of his ass -- he also took credit for suggesting Robert Downey Jr. for the Iron Man lead -- but if he is serious, it's time for the geeks to start speculating. What other things could Howard be talking to the comic titan about? And wouldn't he be better off seeking a non-Marvel property after being screwed on the War Machine gig? Years ago Howard was rumored to be in line to play the villain in a John Singleton-directed Luke Cage movie. Now that Marvel is back on track with a low-budget Cage film, is Howard back in talks for that? Could he potentially be looking at the lead, too? Who in the Marvel Universe would you like to see the Oscar-nominee play?
