The Hollywood Reporter brings news that Foresight Unlimited is going forward with the fourth installment of the 'Universal Soldier' series -- and will be embracing the ever-popular 3D format.

'Universal Soldier IV' will hopefully reunite Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme, who appeared as slain Vietnam War veterans brought back from the dead as perfect weapons in director Roland Emmerich's original 1992 film. Van Damme appeared solo in the second installment, 'Universal Soldier: The Return' (1999), and reunited with Lundgren in last year's 'Universal Soldier: Regeneration.'

Sources say Van Damme's deal is still being negotiated.

John Hyams, who directed 'Regeneration,' will be returning to direct the fourth installment.

Filming is set to commence in October.
