It has been a while since a teen comedy really grabbed me, but now and then a trailer comes along that actually manages to at least capture my interest. That's what happened earlier this morning when I got my first look at Emma Stone's new project, Easy A.

Stone plays Olive in the clip, a high school student no one notices. When she helps a gay friend convince everyone he's straight -- by faking wild sex at a party -- she goes from no one to someone virtually overnight. Next thing you know, she's helping every loner nerd in school become popular while ruining her own reputation in the process and earning the ire of the "religious kids" who disapprove of her wanton ways. The premise isn't the most original thing I've ever seen (it's a very obvious modern day updating of The Scarlet Letter -- at least it never hides that fact), but the trailer has some funny lines to offset the obligatory odd and hilarious parents and hunky love interest. In fact, the parents get the funniest lines in the whole preview, particularly Olive's dad, who reassures her that while she may look like a stripper, she's a "high end stripper -- for governors or athletes."

Stone leads a cast featuring Stanley Tucci, Amanda Bynes, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm McDowell (whoa!) and Thomas Haden Church. Easy A hits theaters this September. Get your ass to class after the jump and watch the trailer.
