As we mentioned earlier in the year, toy company Bif Bang Pow!™ (in cooperation with EMCE Toys) has been working on a series of 8" Mego-styled action figures and 7" bobbleheads for the [adult swim] television series The Venture Bros. (as well as LOST, The Twilight Zone and Flash Gordon) . Prototypes of the six action figures were show at New York's Toy Fair 2010 in February, but this is our first look at the bobbleheads of The Monarch and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch.

The Mantis-Eye Experiment says the bobbling figures cost $12.99, are "brimming with attitude," and can be pre-ordered at Entertainment Earth along with The Venture Bros. action figures. Collectors take note: the Dr. Mrs. The Monarch bobblehead will be an Entertainment Earth exclusive.

While the bobbleheads and figures won't be released until August 2010, word is all the toys will be available at the San Diego Comic-Con in late July. Better start saving now.

By now
it's common knowledge that the eight episode Season 4.2 of The Venture Bros. will begin in August and end in December with what Jackson Publick is calling "a Very Special Venture Bros. Season Finale Hour-Long Extravaganza." Season 4.1 will be released on DVD "sometime between July and October" while Season 4.2 and the entire 16-episode Season 4 run will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray respectively sometime in March 2011.

What you might not have heard is that both Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer (as well as Rusty Venture himself, James Urbaniak) chatted live on Red Nose Net at Midnight on May 1st. While no news of the new half-season was discussed during the chat, the duo joked around for over two hours and released a remix of the Red Nose Net charity single site entitled "Some Kind of Charity (or something, alt. mix)." For those that weren't awake or in the know, Venture Bros. Blog recorded both chats so listen to those when you can.

Finally, if you missed Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer at the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art on April 22, both are confirmed to appear at the San Diego Comic-Con in July and Dragon*Con '10 in September. While no footage from the MoCCA event has hit the Internet yet, there have been reports that a clip reel of scenes from Season 4.2 was shown.
