Trejo plays the title character, an ex-Federale -- who loves guns almost as much as he loves knives and women -- that is double-crossed and left for dead in an statewide Texas anti-immigration conspiracy. To fight back against corrupt politicians, hitmen, and a sword-wielding Steven Seagal, he loads up the weapons and gains help from Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba.

The trailer has a very special message attached to it, as it was delivered to Ain't It Cool News today, Cinco de Mayo, the day of Hispanic pride. More importantly, Rodriguez is calling this his "illegal" trailer, because the film's plot just happens to touch on the similar situation happening in Arizona right now, with its new, and very controversial, immigration reform.
Actually the film doesn't "touch on" the issue; a better phrase would be the film drives a Gatling gun-laced motorcycle into the face of the controversy. The over-the-top fun may seem like its just a simple revenge fantasy towards the heated, much-debated legislation. But after seeing Lindsay Lohan, dressed like a nun and brandishing a revolver in our faces, nothing seems impossible anymore.
WARNING: The trailer contains profanity, violence and excessive grizzled line-delivery.
'Machete' is co-directed by Rodriguez and his longtime editor Ethan Maniquis, and opens in theaters on Friday, Sept. 3.
