Joseph Gordon-Levitt is done with heartbreak. Now its on to thrills.

According to Heat Vision, the '(500) Days of Summer' star in negotiations to star in two upcoming action thrillers, the David Koepp-penned chase film 'Premium Rush' and Rian Johnson's sci-fi thriller 'Looper.'

While 'Premium Rush' has yet to lock down a director, it will be produced by 'Zombieland's' Gavin Polone. Gordon-Levitt would play a NYC bike messenger who comes in contact with the wrong package, and must dodge the dirty cop who will do anything to get it back. 'Loopers,' however, would be the first collaboration between Gordon-Levitt and writer/director Rian Johnson since 2005's neo-noir 'Brick,' which starred Gordon-Levitt as a teen Philip Marlowe-type, wading the dangerous waters of insidious high school cliques in search of his ex-girlfriend's killer.

'Loopers', set in a future world that's unlocked the potential of time travel, could feature Gordon-Levitt as an assassin ordered to travel back in time and knock off himself.

While it's not yet known when 'Loopers' might begin filming, 'Premium Rush' is hoping for a late summer start. Gordon-Levitt can be seen next in Christopher Nolan's much-buzzed-about 'Inception,' alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page.
