Mickey RourkeMickey Rourke set to star as Whiplash in Iron Man 2 - in cinemas today - has sent online gossip sites into a frenzy after describing one of his recent work colleagues - believed to be Gwyneth Paltrow - as "a pain in the a**" on set.

In an attempt to calm down a possible fiery situation, a representative for Rourke has responded by dismissing rumours that the actor hates working with Gwyneth Paltrow and insists he holds his Iron Man 2 co-star in the "highest regard".

The problem began when the star of The Wrestler told MovieHole.net, "I worked with an actress recently who, despite having a reputation as a good actress, s**ts herself when that little red light comes on."

"She's fooled everyone into thinking she's a lot better than she is," he continued. "Working with someone like that is a pain in the a**."

It was then reported that Rourke had aimed his rant at Paltrow after a post on Twitter, supposedly from the actor, naming the Oscar-winning actress. Rourke's representative was then immediately forced to confirm that the Twitter account in question does not belong to the real Mickey Rourke.

"(Rourke) does not have a Twitter account," Rourke's PR said. "(and he) holds Gwyneth in the highest regard."
