Warner Bros. has answered the Bat-Signal for the second sequel to the new Batman series, setting July 20, 2012, as the release date for the third Christopher Nolan-directed Dark Knight movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, things are just getting underway on the project; Nolan is still in postproduction on his sci-fi thriller "Inception," but is working with David Goyer and Nolan's brother, Jonathan, on a script for the next installment. Christopher Nolan and Goyer, of course, breathed new life into the franchise with 2005's 'Batman Begins' and 2008's 'The Dark Knight.'

There is no title yet and no start date for 'Batman 3.'
