While Andrew Shortell prepares for his horror-thriller Psych:9 to open in the UK on May 7, he has bestowed upon us a little prezzie until then. The gang got together and made their very first behind the scenes video of the film, which is comprised of Shortell's video diary kept throughout all 28 days of principle photography. It's always interesting to watch these director's videos because you get a real feel for the energy behind the project (though some directors are obviously "acting") and judging from this one, everyone was clearly very excited and intensely committed to bringing Psych:9 to light.

Shortell takes the audience on a tour of the set, which includes some location pieces and some that were built -- all totally creepy. The video is intercut with clips from the film showing Sara Foster, who plays Roslyn -- the young woman who works at the hospital at night collating patient records. A series of unsettling events leads her to believe the hospital may be connected to a number of recent murders in the area. To get to the truth, Roslyn must solve the mystery of her own disturbing past. We get to see her interact with her co-stars (Cary Elwes, Michael Biehn and Gabriel Mann) in the video.

You can check it all out after the jump.
