Back in 2005, James Duffy directed a short film called Robin's Big Date that starred Sam Rockwell as Batman and Justin Long as Robin. In it, Robin attempts to go on a date without Batman ruining the entire evening by being obnoxious and intrusive. It's a pretty funny short, and we've written about it before, but the cool news is that Rockwell and Long will be reprising these roles for another short film from Duffy called Robin's Big Speed Date that will be part of that huge, ensemble sketch comedy film the Farrelly Brothers are piecing together.

Not only will Duffy return to direct, but Production Weekly's Twitter reports that Leslie Bibb will play Wonder Woman, Josh Hamilton will play Superman and John Hodgeman will play the Penguin. Not for nothing, but this film keeps getting better and better. Previously we told you that Hugh Jackman will be starring alongside Kate Winslet in a sketch about a man with genitalia attached to his face and the girl he goes out on a date with. Additionally, MTV reported that, in another sketch, Gerard Butler will play a leprechaun who's kidnapped by Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville. Other folks known to be involved include Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Emma Stone, Matt Walsh, Tony Shalhoub, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kieran Culkin, Chloe Moretz, and Patrick Warburton. Brett Ratner, Bob Odenkirk and Elizabeth Banks are among the many directors involved.

Um, is it wrong of me to say that this is way high on my list of anticipated films? Watch the original Rockwell/Long Batman & Robin short after the jump.
