Last year, he was gearing up for The Pee-Wee Herman Show in Hollywood. This year, he's painting himself virtually blue for another popular '80s phenomenon. Deadline reports that Pee-Wee Paul Reubens has added his name to the voice list for Raja Gosnell's The Smurfs. He'll voice Jokey Smurf, the little bugger who liked to give his victims yellow boxes wrapped with a red bow that would explode upon unwrapping. Talk about perfect casting -- Reubens' laugh will fit in just perfectly. (Hit the jump for a montage of Jokey's gifts and giggles.)

With Reubens in place, the Smurfs world will consist of: Katy Perry as Smurfette, George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf, Fred Armisen as Brainy Smurf, Anton Yelchin as Clumsy Smurf, Alan Cumming as Gutsy Smurf, Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf, and Reubens as Jokey Smurf. (And some reports say Kevin James is Hefty Smurf, but that sounds like a rumor.) On the live-action side of things, we've got Jayma Mays, Neil Patrick Harris, Sofia Vergara, and Hank Azaria. The plot: Gargamel chases the Smurfs out of their village and into Central Park, where they must turn around and try to get back to the village before Gargamel catches them.

Is this enough to woo you back to Smurfdom, or would you rather the little guys take their mushrooms back to the '80s?
