Find out more after the jump... According to the Daily Express, Johnny Depp is encouraging the producers of the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean film to double the number of Rolling Stones in their movies by offering Mick Jagger a cameo (following on from Keth Richards appearance as Jack Sparrow's dad). Rumours that Ronnie Wood has been hanging around outside Disney Studios with an eye patch and a stuffed parrot on his shoulder are yet to be confirmed.
To be honest, this sounds highly unlikely if not for the fact that any sentence which begins with 'according to the Daily Express' should be taken with enough salt to grit the M1.
Although Keith Richards is famously the inspiration behind Depp's Jack Sparrow, it has to be said that putting him into the series didn't add much to the experience. By the time he turned up, the plot had already stopped making sense and the audience were staring into their popcorn wondering what the hell happened to such a promising franchise.
One person that definitely will be in the film, of course, is Johnny Depp and he has made it clear he's not just doing it for a big fat pay cheque.
"Some people will say, 'Aha Depp sold out by doing the sequels'," he said recently. "But it was never an issue for me. I love Captain Jack so much I'd do Pirates 7 if they asked."
Whether they decide to fill the film with an entire galleon of OAP musicians (and honestly, who could argue that Bob Dylan would be anything other than the greatest pirate ever?), in our opinion, it doesn't matter as long as they give Depp free reign to bring Captain Jack back to centre stage. We're still celebrating the fact that Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley aren't coming back.
So what do you think? Are you looking forward to Pirates 4 and do you reckon Mick Jagger would be a welcome addition?
