We know Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will have a Fountain of Youth, Blackbeard, and a lady pirate who will give Jack Sparrow a run for his doubloons. If that all sounded a little too ordinary in comparison to the undead pirates and coral-encrusted monsters of the first three films, fear not. On Stranger Tides is going to go under the sea, and introduce you to mermaids. According to an official Walt Disney press release, French actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey has joined the cast as Syrena, "a beautiful and alluring young mermaid." (As if there's any other kind.)

On Stranger Tides
will be Berges-Frisbey's American debut. She's a rising star in her native France, and starring alongside Johnny Depp will undoubtedly do wonders for her stateside. She may very well become the next Keira Knightley, complete with Chanel modeling contract.

Sparrow is certainly going to have a lot of eye candy in this film -- and he won't have to share it with any young upstarts like Orlando Bloom. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides begins filming this summer, and at least one star of the film has been spotted in Hawaii, as LOST's Jorge Garcia photographed the Black Pearl being assembled. Despite being a little weary of tricorns and dreadlocks, I can't help but be a little excited at seeing that eerie ship on the horizon again.
