Sharlto Copley ('District 9') is in talks to star in an adaptation of a James Frey book. And no, its not the book you're thinking of.

According to Heat Vision, Copley may play the lead in 'I Am Number Four,' a young adult sci-fi flick based on a novel written by Jobie Hughes and the infamous fabricationist Frey.

The film -- which follows a crew of aliens who escape to earth from their home planet, only to assimilate into American high schools -- will star British actor Alex Pettyfer in the title role. Copley would play Pettyfer's adult mentor. Sharlto Copley ('District 9') is in talks to star in an adaptation of a James Frey book. And no, its not the book you're thinking of.

'Smallville's' masterminds Alfred Gough and Miles Mllar will write the screenplay. D.J. Caruso ('Disturbia') will direct, with Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay producing.

This is the latest in a series of high-profile roles for Copley, who captured the spotlight in 2009 for his role in the Oscar-nominated 'District 9' (in which, ironically, he played a human who finds himself assimilating into space alien culture). His next big-screen role is none other than Captain "Howlin' Mad" Murdock in the summer blockbuster 'The A-Team.'
