This is a big week for the 2010 Festival de Cannes: On Monday organizers announced that British actress Kristin Scott Thomas will be mistress of ceremonies for the 63rd edition; then, on Thursday, organizers will reveal the fest lineup.

According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Thomas, who lives in Paris, will preside over the festivities, introducing the opening night and closing night ceremonies as well as inviting onstage Tim Burton and his fellow Cannes judges. Scott Thomas previously was mistress of ceremonies in 1999. The Opening night film for the festival, which runs May 12-23, will be 'Robin Hood,' starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. Other films likely to screen at Cannes include Woody Allen's 'You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,' starring Naomi Watts, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Brolin and Antonio Banderas; and Oliver Stone's 'Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps,' starring Shia LaBeouf, Michael Douglas and Brolin.
