Rowling, who was at the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House in Washington on Monday, said that while she has no plans to do so now, she could see herself writing additional tales about Harry Potter "maybe 10 years from now."

The author was at the event to give a reading to a small group of children and then took questions from her audience including one about whether she wanted to write more. Rowling replied, "Yes, I do, and I am. I'm quite sure in the not-too-distant future I will bring out another book."

She also revealed that the name 'Potter' comes from her childhood neighbours - a name she always preferred to her own. She also admitted that kids used to tease her with nicknames like 'rolling pin.'
