Freddy Krueger has been on the mind of damn near every horror fan as of late, and for good reason. We're only three and a half short weeks away from Platinum Dunes' much talked about remake of the classic Wes Craven slasher flick, and thus three and a half weeks away from every fanboy getting up in arms over how they've destroyed a classic horror icon or some other nonsense. If this does happen, they can just turn to Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy the long awaited NOES documentary. Making its way around the internet is the new cover art for the DVD, which is set to be released on May 4th, a mere four days after the remake hits theaters. It is, for lack of a better phrase, absolutely awesome. Designed by Matthew Joseph Peak, it features a positively diabolical Freddy doing what he does best. The artwork isn't all, however. We also get the DVD specs, which include:
-The complete 4-hour documentary
-100 interviews, including Wes Craven, Robert Englund, Renny Harlin, Alice Cooper, Ronny Yu and Monica Keena.
-Deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage and special effects test footage
-Over 4 hours of bonus features, including "A Nightmare on Elm Street in 10 Minutes," "Freddy vs. the Video Game Nerd," "Elm Street's Poster Boy: the Art of Matthews Joseph Peak," and a whole heck of a lot more.
From Darknight Pictures: As we venture back to Elm Street in this thrilling nightmare, fans will find everything they've dreamed of as they enter Freddy Krueger's world: exploring what spurred mastermind Wes Craven to craft the first ground breaking film; delving deep behind the scenes of the original and its sequels; learning how the cast and crew brought their worst nightmares to life on screen; and, finally understanding the impact the series and its mythos have had on modern pop culture and the horror genre.
