Mr. Popper's PenguinsPenguins may soon be marching back onto the big screen.

According to Variety, Noah Baumbach ('The Squid and the Whale') is considering re-teaming with 'Greenberg' star Ben Stiller to direct Richard and Florence Atwater's classic children's novel 'Mr. Popper's Penguins.'

The script, about a man who suddenly inhabits 12 penguins, was written by Sean Anders and John Morris after Fox acquired the screen rights in 2009.

Stiller currently stars in the indie dramedy 'Greenberg,' which Baumbach wrote and directed. The film -- in limited release now -- has grossed about $1.5 million, domestically. Meanwhile, Baumbach, who co-wrote 2009's 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' adaptation with Wes Anderson, will also write and direct 'The Emperor's Children,' based on the novel by Claire Messud. As we previously reported, Keira Knightley, Eric Bana and Richard Gere are up for roles in the project.
