I don't know about you guys, but I'm really excited about AMC's plans to bring The Walking Dead to television. The mere idea of seeing one of the best (and it probably would be the best, except that I think Y: The Last Man is pretty damn brilliant as well) comics of the past few years to television is exciting enough. Getting Frank Darabont to write, direct, and produce was more than I could have hoped for. But wait! it gets better! Shock Till You Drop is reporting that the special effects duties have been assigned to none other than KNB Effects.

Greg Nicotero himself confirms that the company will be reuniting with Darabont (they previously collaborated on Stephen King's The Mist) on the project. The group just finished work on Nimrod Antal's Predators and has previous zombie experience working alongside George Romero.

Between this news, the announcement that AMC has already greenlit six episodes and the first casting details (and rumors) everything seems to indicate things are moving along rapidly with the production.
