20th Century Fox isn't screwing around when it comes to Nimrod Antal's Predators. The title doesn't hit theaters until July, but over the course of the past few weeks fans have been treated to a behind the scenes video (hosted by producer Robert Rodriguez), a full-length trailer, and now another clip (once again intro'd by Rodriguez) introducing the main character, Adrien Brody's Royce.

It may seem a little odd to highlight the film's star before the supporting cast members -- who I assume we'll be meeting in other behind-the-scenes installments -- but this time it makes sense. Since the first announcement of Brody's casting, internet fanboys have been buzzing that the actor wasn't right for the role. Stepping into shoes once worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover is certainly a tall task, and Brody -- best known for Oscar-winning performance in The Pianist and playing Jack in Peter Jackson's King Kong remake -- doesn't immediately evoke thoughts of action superhero when you hear his name.

The new clip seems designed to counter that perception and convince audiences that the performer can indeed play a mercenary toting around large guns fighting the most feared hunters in the galaxy.

It appears to be successful. Brody may not be as buff as Arnold, but he's got an Oscar -- so he's capable of acting when the scene calls for it. Plus, he looks more than a bit like Man vs.Wild's Bear Grylls -- and if I were stuck on a hostile world and being hunted by the alien monsters, I'd want Bear with me over an aging politician. Who do you want on your team? The guy who kills deadly predators with his bare hands or the one who signs bills into law? I think the answer is obvious. Hit the jump and get to know Royce a little better.
