My Back to Frank Black buddies alerted me to an outtake clip from Lance's new film by writer-director Leigh Scott. This fantasy-thriller tells the tale of a grown up Dorothy (Paulie Rojas, The Last Resort) who is now a successful children's book author living in New York City. Eventually, she realizes that her books are really accounts of repressed childhood memories, and that Oz may actually exist. Of course it wouldn't be an homage to The Wizard of Oz without the Wicked Witch of the West, who shows up in Times Square looking to do battle with her arch nemesis.
In the film, Lance plays Dorothy's dad who is maintaining the family farm. There's an interesting cast overall (they had me at Lance Henriksen, really) -- including Chistopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) as the Wizard, Mia Sara (Legend), Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Jason Mewes (Clerks), Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings), and former wrestler Al Snow.
After the jump you can watch Henriksen attempt to hold a very fussy kitty during a scene. Lance manages to keep his eight other lives in the end.
